Julia Hetta is a Swedish photographer born 1972 in Uppsala. A city near Stockholm.

Her work is easily recognizable. She manages to create beautiful images with a twist of darkness. Known for her renaissance-style portraits.


“I’m very focused on the lighting but always driven by art that is beautiful yet complicated, dark and mysterious.”



The fashion photographer has contributed to many magazines including Dazed, AnOther Magazine, Acne Paper, I-D and more.

She studied at the Gerrit Rietveldt Art Academy in Amsterdam (NL). And enjoys working mostly with natural light.
